CENTLEC seeks proposals for converting a Coal-Fired Power Station into a renewable energy facility, including EIA, land surveying, design, construction, and maintenance of Microgrids and a 30MW renewable energy plant.
CENTLEC invites qualified service providers to submit proposals for the transformation of an existing Coal-Fired Power Station into a sustainable renewable energy source. This project encompasses a comprehensive approach, including conducting Environmental Impact Assessments (EIA), surveying and registering earmarked land, and designing and procuring necessary components for the new energy solutions. The scope also includes the construction, project management, commissioning, and ongoing maintenance of Microgrids ranging from 2MW to 5MW, alongside a 30MW renewable energy plant or alternative energy solutions.
The selected service providers will be responsible for ensuring that all systems integrate seamlessly with CENTLEC's existing grid infrastructure at voltage levels of 11kV, 33kV, and 132kV. A critical component of this project is the incorporation of a battery energy storage system connected to the 132kV supply network. Registered electrical consulting engineers, along with their professional teams, will be required to ensure compliance with all regulatory standards and to deliver a reliable and efficient energy solution that supports the transition to renewable energy in the Mangaung Metro area.
This tender is suitable for engineering firms, construction companies, environmental consultants, and energy solution providers with experience in renewable energy projects, particularly those familiar with EIA processes and grid integration.
