This tender seeks an independent Environmental Assessment Practitioner to manage the Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) process for a Gas to Power facility project. The project will encompass both onshore and offshore activities in Mossel Bay.
PetroSA is inviting tenders for the Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) process associated with its Gas to Power facility project, aimed at harnessing offshore gas reserves for electricity generation. The successful bidder will be responsible for coordinating the EIA process, which includes managing specialists in accordance with the National Environmental Management Act (NEMA) regulations. The project scope includes both onshore components, such as the establishment of a new 132 kV switching station, and offshore activities related to gas production from existing wells and the development of new offshore wells.
The EIA will be conducted in a staggered manner, starting with the onshore assessment while the offshore redevelopment study is ongoing. This approach ensures that all environmental considerations are thoroughly evaluated before project implementation. Interested parties must be registered Environmental Assessment Practitioners with the Environmental Assessment Practitioners Association of South Africa (EAPASA) and have experience in managing complex environmental assessments. This project not only aims to facilitate energy production but also to ensure compliance with environmental regulations, thereby contributing to sustainable development in the region.
This tender is suitable for registered Environmental Assessment Practitioners with experience in conducting EIAs, particularly those familiar with energy projects and environmental regulations in South Africa. Companies with expertise in managing multidisciplinary teams for environmental assessments are encouraged to apply.
