Supply and delivery of standard laptops and accessories (backpacks, laptop locks, keyboards and mice) for the Department of Forestry, Fisheries and the Environment in Pretoria. Bidders must offer approved Dell, HP or Lenovo models and hold SITA RFB 740 accreditation in Gauteng.
The Department of Forestry, Fisheries and the Environment (DFFE) has issued Request for Quotations RFQ282 AM (26/27) for the supply and delivery of standard laptops and related accessories to its head office at Environment House, 473 Steve Biko Road, Arcadia, Pretoria. The requirement covers six line items, each with a quantity of two: a standard laptop, a second laptop line item, a laptop backpack, a laptop lock, a keyboard and a mouse. The approved specification allows Dell, HP or Lenovo equipment, with each brand's detailed model list set out in Annexures B, C and D of the RFQ. The department will accept any of the three brands provided the offered equipment fully complies with the specification and the correct NETTRACE asset-tracking licence is included for each model.
The approved laptop specification calls for business-class hardware with Windows 11 Pro, Intel Core Ultra 5 or Core Ultra 7 processors with vPro enterprise management, 16 GB DDR5 memory, a 512 GB SSD, a 14-inch display and a 65W USB-C or equivalent power adapter with the South African plug standard. Each laptop must carry a three-year next-business-day onsite warranty, accidental damage protection and a three-year NETTRACE licence covering asset management, theft recovery and remote data deletion, integrated with the department's financial asset register and Active Directory. Bidders must submit a formal quotation on company letterhead showing item descriptions, model numbers and codes, VAT per item, validity period, banking details, contact details and a valid Central Supplier Database (CSD) MAAA number. Prices must be firm and inclusive of 15% VAT, and the quotation must remain valid for 90 days from the closing date.
Mandatory requirements are strict. Bidders must submit an Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) certificate proving authorisation for the brand offered, and a SITA letter of accreditation under RFB 740 for Gauteng. Failure to submit either document results in disqualification. Quotations must be emailed to Quotations1@dffe.gov.za by 11:00 on 28 October 2026, with RFQ282 AM (26/27) in the email subject line. Late quotations will not be considered. Because the 80/20 preference point system applies, bidders may also claim specific-goals points with the required SBD 6.1 form and supporting B-BBEE or ownership documents. Supplies must not be delivered before a official purchase order is issued. Suppliers that meet the specification, hold the required OEM and SITA credentials, and can deliver to a government site in Pretoria with a reliable warranty and asset-management service should consider responding. Successful suppliers gain a government reference, a repeat-business pipeline for IT hardware, and the opportunity to supply a complete, compliant bundle of devices and accessories.
This tender suits IT hardware suppliers, resellers and authorised distributors of Dell, HP or Lenovo products that hold current OEM authorisation for the brand offered and SITA RFB 740 accreditation in Gauteng. Businesses must also be registered on the CSD with a valid MAAA number, be tax compliant, and be able to meet the 15% VAT-inclusive pricing and 90-day price validity. Small, medium and black-owned, women-owned or disability-owned enterprises may also benefit from the 20-point specific-goals preference if they can provide the required ownership documentation. Businesses without SITA accreditation or manufacturer authorisation should not apply, as these are mandatory and non-submission leads to disqualification.
