Civil construction contract to upgrade a municipal sewer pump station and build a new bund wall. Bidders need CIDB grading 1CE/1GB or higher and must attend a compulsory site meeting. Quotations close 6 November 2026.
Swellendam Municipality has issued a quotation notice (SMQ24-26-27) for the upgrading of the Barrydale sewer pump station, including the construction of a new bund wall. The works form part of the municipality's wastewater infrastructure and are intended to improve the reliability and containment capacity of the sewer pump station. The advert does not provide a detailed bill of quantities or technical specification, so interested contractors should obtain the full quotation documents to confirm the scope, materials, and performance requirements.
To be considered, bidders must hold a CIDB contractor grading designation of 1CE/1GB or higher. Attendance at the compulsory site inspection meeting, scheduled for Friday, 30 October 2026 at 11:00 at 12 Bain Street, Barrydale, is mandatory. Quotations must be submitted on the prescribed documents, in a sealed envelope clearly marked with the quotation number and description, and must include a valid Tax Compliance Status PIN issued by SARS. Quotations must be deposited in the Municipal Quotation Box at the Supply Chain Management Offices, 11 Lind Street, Swellendam, before 11:00 on 6 November 2026. Late quotations and those submitted by email or facsimile will not be accepted.
Evaluation will follow the 80/20 preference point system, and bidders must achieve a minimum functionality score of 60% to proceed to price evaluation. The municipality does not bind itself to accept the lowest or any quotation and may accept a quotation in full or in part. Quotations remain valid for 84 days from the closing date. Technical enquiries must be made in writing to Z. Jonker (zandrej@swellendam.gov.za), and no enquiries will be handled in the last two days before closing. Official documents are available from Mr. K. Juries in the Supply Chain Management Unit (tel: 028 514 8500, scm@swellendam.gov.za) from 22 October 2026.
