Demographic Analysis Services

The KwaZulu-Natal Department of Social Development is inviting bids for a service provider to conduct a detailed demographic analysis that will support the department's transition strategy. The successful bidder will analyze historical and projected population trends, focusing on factors such as age structure, migration patterns, and socio-economic characteristics. This analysis is crucial for enhancing the department's ability to align its services with the needs of the population, particularly in light of challenges such as youth unemployment and an aging demographic.

The scope of work includes district-level demographic profiling, the development of population projection scenarios, and an assessment of how demographic trends influence social service demand and labor market participation. Deliverables will include an inception report, draft and final demographic analysis reports, a provincial demographic dashboard, and a policy brief summarizing key insights. This project will not only enhance evidence-based planning but also position the Population Unit as a strategic hub within the department, ultimately leading to improved service delivery and targeted social investment.
