This tender seeks a qualified service provider to deliver accredited herbicide applicator training for 660 participants over six months, focusing on safe and effective herbicide application for invasive alien plant management.
The KwaZulu-Natal Department of Economic Development, Tourism and Environmental Affairs is inviting proposals from accredited training service providers to conduct herbicide applicator training. The training will be based on Unit Standard 123134: 'Apply Herbicide to Noxious Weeds' at NQF Level 1, comprising three credits. The program aims to equip 660 participants from economically disadvantaged communities with the necessary skills and knowledge to safely handle and apply herbicides in invasive alien plant management operations.
The appointed service provider will be responsible for delivering a comprehensive training program that includes both theoretical and practical components. Training sessions will be conducted at various project sites across KwaZulu-Natal, with a facilitator-to-participant ratio of 1:20 to ensure effective learning. Participants will receive mentorship support throughout the training duration, and successful candidates will be awarded accredited certificates of competence. This initiative not only enhances occupational health and safety standards but also improves the employability of participants, contributing to broader socio-economic development goals.
This tender is suitable for training providers accredited by FP&M SETA or QTCO, with experience in delivering environmental management training and a proven track record in skills development programs.
