Bulk Electrical Supply and Electrification Services

The Mossel Bay Municipality is seeking experienced contractors to undertake the bulk electrical supply and electrification of low-cost housing and informal settlements. The project encompasses the supply, delivery, construction, installation, testing, and commissioning of both medium and low-voltage reticulation networks, as well as house connections within the municipality's jurisdiction. This multi-year project is expected to enhance the living conditions of residents by providing reliable electrical infrastructure, with a completion date set for June 30, 2029.

Contractors must possess a CIDB grading of 6EP or higher and are required to subcontract a minimum of 10% and a maximum of 30% of the contract price to local contractors registered as EME or QSE Level 1 B-BBEE. The subcontracted work will include excavations for cables and poles, along with labor associated with house connections. A compulsory site meeting will be held to discuss the scope of work and specifications, and attendance is mandatory for bid eligibility. Bidders must also ensure their tender documents are submitted in a sealed envelope by the closing date, October 9, 2026, to be considered for this opportunity.
