The Elangeni TVET College invites expressions of interest for the appointment of entities or partners to design, equip, and operate a Leather and Footwear Artisan Skills Development Centre. This initiative aims to enhance skills development in the leather and footwear industry, providing essential training facilities and resources for aspiring artisans. The successful partners will be responsible for infrastructure development, including artisan training workshops, classrooms, and digital learning spaces, as well as integrating industry-relevant curricula and modern production techniques.
The scope of services also encompasses financial participation to ensure sustainability, with co-investment in capital infrastructure and operational expenditures. Additionally, the project will focus on establishing industry integration and market linkages, providing access to workplace-based learning opportunities, apprenticeships, and internships. Interested service providers must demonstrate their capabilities through a comprehensive submission, including evidence of previous projects valued at a minimum of R40 million, technical expertise, and partnerships with government or similar institutions.
