Commercialization of Black Small Scale Grain Value Chain

The Eastern Cape Department of Agriculture seeks expressions of interest from qualified service providers to participate in the commercialization of Black small scale grain value chains. This initiative aims to identify potential partners who will collaborate with Black farmers to enhance the grain production sector, focusing on critical success factors such as expanding production, increasing market access, and providing training and skills development. The project emphasizes the importance of value addition to agricultural produce and aims to create sustainable job opportunities within the community.

Eligible applicants must demonstrate a commitment to Black Economic Empowerment, with at least 60% black ownership. The scope includes the development of a comprehensive grain value chain business concept that integrates production, processing, and marketing. Key components of the proposal should address operational plans, financial projections, and risk management strategies. The successful partners will be included in the Department's Partnership Database, facilitating ongoing collaboration and support for the duration of the project from 2026 to 2031.
