Independent Road Safety Audit Services

The South African National Roads Agency SOC Limited (SANRAL) is inviting tenders for independent road safety audit services aimed at improving the safety and operational efficiency of National Route R69, specifically Sections 5 from KM 0.0 to KM 9.75. The successful bidder will be responsible for conducting comprehensive Stage 2 and Stage 3 road safety audits, which include evaluating the preliminary and detailed designs of the road improvements. This process will involve site inspections, stakeholder engagement, and the preparation of detailed audit reports that identify safety risks and recommend enhancements.

The scope of work encompasses a thorough assessment of the road's design speed, cross-sections, alignments, and intersection layouts, as well as the provision of non-motorised transport facilities. The audits must adhere to the guidelines set forth in the South African Road Safety Assessment Methods (SARSAM) and are expected to contribute significantly to the road safety regime for the next 20 years.
