Disposal of Vandalized 5 MVA Transformer

Eskom is seeking qualified bidders for the purchase, collection, and removal of a vandalized 5 MVA transformer, serial number T-2199 39-112, situated at the Ga-Maja Substation. The successful bidder will be responsible for the safe handling and transportation of the transformer, as well as ensuring that the site is left clean upon completion of the removal. Bidders are required to submit all necessary documentation, including a valid SARS Tax Clearance Certificate and proof of registration on the National Central Supplier Database (CSD).

The scope of work includes the collection of the transformer, which has been stripped of its windings, leaving only the shell. It is crucial for bidders to inspect the transformer and understand its condition before submitting their offers. The removal process must adhere to Eskom's health and safety requirements, including the use of qualified labor and appropriate equipment. Payment must be made within five working days following the sale, and the release of the transformer will occur only after receipt of payment and the acquisition of a permit for removal.
