The successful contractor must demonstrate extensive experience in general building, particularly in heritage projects, and possess an active CIDB Contractor grading designation of 7GB or higher. Emerging contractors with a grading of 6GB PE are not eligible to apply.
The project is expected to be completed within 21 months and will involve various activities, including structural repairs, interior and exterior waterproofing, and installation of modern amenities while preserving the museum's historical integrity. Contractors will be required to appoint all necessary professional service providers to ensure compliance with applicable legislation and standards. This project not only aims to enhance the museum's facilities but also to contribute to socio-economic development through the Expanded Public Works Programme (EPWP) and National Youth Service (NYS) initiatives, promoting local employment and skills development.
