Psychiatric Assessment Services

The Passenger Rail Agency of South Africa (PRASA) is seeking a suitably qualified and registered psychiatrist to deliver independent psychiatric assessment and advisory services. This once-off engagement will focus on enhancing employee wellness and supporting line management functions. The selected service provider will conduct comprehensive psychiatric evaluations, provide recommendations for fitness for duty, and offer guidance on managing work-related stress and mental health conditions. The psychiatrist will also assist in incapacity management by evaluating long-term absenteeism linked to psychiatric conditions and providing necessary reports to support HR processes.

The scope of services includes conducting assessments for fitness to perform job requirements, offering recommendations for reasonable accommodations, and delivering reports that support incapacity and fitness-for-duty processes. The psychiatrist will be expected to maintain strict confidentiality regarding all employee-related information and assessments.
