This tender invites qualified Environmental Assessment Practitioners (EAPs) to conduct a Basic Impact Assessment and facilitate the application for a Water Use Licence for three critical sanitation projects in Johannesburg. The projects include the provision of basic sanitation services in Tjovitjo, Nanas Farm, and Lakeview, which aim to construct approximately 10,494 VIP toilets to enhance sanitation in informal settlements. The selected EAP will be responsible for ensuring compliance with environmental regulations and providing a comprehensive assessment report that meets all legal requirements.
To qualify, the EAP must hold a BA/BSc degree in Natural Sciences, be registered with the South African Council for Natural Scientific Professions (SACNASP) as a Professional Natural Scientist, and with the Environmental Assessment Practitioners Association of South Africa (EAPASA). Additionally, candidates should have a minimum of five years of relevant experience, evidenced by client letters and a detailed CV. This project not only contributes to improving public health and sanitation but also supports the City of Johannesburg's commitment to sustainable development and environmental stewardship.
This tender is suitable for environmental consulting firms, independent environmental assessors, and practitioners with expertise in impact assessments and water licensing, particularly those with experience in sanitation projects and community engagement.
