Supply, delivery and installation of aluminium single and double doors on substation buildings in Bredasdorp, Western Cape. Requires CIDB grading 1SG/GB or higher and a compulsory site meeting. Closes 13 November 2026.
Cape Agulhas Municipality has invited tenders for the supply, delivery and installation of aluminium single and double doors on its substation buildings. The municipality's Electrical Services division manages the project, and the scope covers the full procurement cycle from manufacturing and delivery through to on-site installation. Successful contractors will be responsible for supplying door units that meet the municipality's specifications for substation environments, which typically require durable, secure and weather-resistant construction. Tender documents, including detailed technical requirements and the bill of quantities, are contained in the tender pack available from the municipality.
Bidders must meet several mandatory requirements. A compulsory clarification meeting will be held at 12:00 on 29 October 2026 at the Electrical Department, 1 Audrey Blignaut Street, Bredasdorp. Attendance is compulsory, and bidders who do not attend will be disqualified, with each representative permitted to represent only one tenderer. Tender documents must be obtained by paying a non-refundable fee of R375.00 into the municipality's Absa account, with the reference SCM15, and submitting proof of payment. Bidders must also be registered on the Central Supplier Database (CSD), submit a valid SARS Tax Compliance Status PIN with their tender, and hold a CIDB registration with a grading of 1SG/GB or higher. Tenders must be sealed, endorsed with the tender number, description and closing date, and deposited in the tender box at the Municipal Offices or posted to the Municipal Manager at PO Box 51, Bredasdorp, 7280. The closing deadline is 13 November 2026 at 12:00, after which tenders will be opened in public.
Evaluation follows the 80/20 preference point system, with 80 points allocated to price and 20 points to specific goals. Specific goals include B-BBEE Status Level contributor (10 points) and locality of supplier (10 points). Tenders will first be assessed against predetermined functionality criteria, and only bidders who reach the minimum qualifying score will proceed to price and preference evaluation. The municipality does not bind itself to accept the lowest or any tender. For this contract, the value of winning a tender lies in securing a municipal infrastructure project that supports the safe and secure operation of local electrical substations. Bidders with a local presence in the Cape Agulhas area may benefit from the locality preference. Technical enquiries should be directed to Ms. Manon McDonald (manonm@capeagulhas.gov.za), and quoting procedure enquiries to Ms. G. Koopman (geraldinek@capeagulhas.gov.za), both by email only.
This tender is suited to construction and building contractors, aluminium fabricators and glazing or door specialists with experience in commercial or industrial door installation, particularly on electrical or utility buildings. Bidders must hold a CIDB registration at grading 1SG/GB or higher, be CSD-registered, and hold a valid SARS Tax Compliance PIN. Businesses in the Cape Agulhas or Overberg region may benefit from the locality preference, and companies with a strong B-BBEE status will gain additional points. Companies that cannot attend the compulsory site meeting on 29 October 2026 should not apply, as non-attendance results in disqualification.
