The National Research Foundation - South African Agency for Science and Technology Advancement (NRF-SAASTA) is inviting proposals from experienced architectural service providers to undertake the design of the Auditorium and Meeting Hall (VC Wood) at the Didacta Building. The project entails a comprehensive renovation of the existing auditorium and the redevelopment of the basement hall into a flexible multipurpose space. The appointed service provider will be responsible for conducting a detailed site assessment, creating a 3D As-Built Design Plan, and ensuring that all designs meet the applicable South African National Standards (SANS) and building regulations.
This project aims to modernize the facilities, enhance space utilization, and ensure accessibility for all users. The renovations will include updating interior finishes, seating, lighting, and audio-visual systems, as well as ensuring compliance with occupational health and safety requirements. The final deliverables must be submitted in both hard copy and editable electronic formats, including AutoCAD and Revit/BIM files.
