Motorized Water Tanker Services

The KwaZulu-Natal Department of Cooperative Governance and Traditional Affairs is inviting bids for the provision of motorized water tanker services to address urgent water supply needs in multiple municipalities. Given the ongoing water scarcity and the delayed completion of bulk infrastructure projects, this initiative aims to ensure that communities have access to clean water through the temporary deployment of water tankers. The contract will last for four months, during which service providers must be prepared to mobilize quickly in response to requests from local municipalities.

Bidders are required to have operational water tankers that are no more than five years old, equipped with necessary safety and hygiene certifications. Each service provider must ensure that their tankers are regularly disinfected and maintained to meet health regulations. The scope includes transporting potable water from designated sources to various community locations, often in rural areas with challenging access conditions. Successful bidders will be expected to adhere to a strict schedule and maintain communication with municipal representatives to ensure timely service delivery.
