The National Research Foundation (NRF) is inviting quotes for the procurement of eight (8) trail cameras, specifically designed for long-term biodiversity observations within the Expanded Freshwater and Terrestrial Environmental Observation Network (EFTEON). The cameras will be utilized for ecological monitoring, including wildlife presence, activity patterns, and species interactions in outdoor environments. Successful bidders are required to deliver the cameras to the EFTEON KIMTRI Landscape located in Kimberley.
The trail cameras must meet specific technical requirements, including passive infrared motion detection, a minimum image resolution of 12 megapixels, and the capability to capture both still images and videos under various lighting conditions. Additionally, the cameras should be weather-resistant, battery-operated, and capable of functioning effectively in harsh outdoor environments. This procurement aims to enhance biodiversity research and conservation efforts, providing valuable data for ecological studies and environmental management.
This tender is suitable for businesses specializing in the supply of outdoor equipment, particularly those with experience in providing rugged cameras for ecological or environmental monitoring. Companies with a focus on biodiversity research tools and technology are encouraged to apply.
