Construction Health and Safety Services

The Free State Department of Public Works and Infrastructure is inviting expressions of interest from experienced construction health and safety consultants to oversee safety protocols during the construction of the Morena Tshohisi Moloi II Primary School in Harrismith. The selected consultant will be responsible for ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations from Stage 5 (Contract Administration and Inspection) through to Stage 6 (Close-Out), which includes the management of safety practices, risk assessments, and reporting. The project is currently at approximately 30% completion and requires a consultant who can effectively integrate safety measures into the ongoing construction process.

Consultants must be registered with the Engineering Council of South Africa (ECSA) as Professional Civil Engineers and possess a minimum of R5 million in professional indemnity insurance. The successful bidder will work closely with the project team to ensure that all safety standards are met and maintained throughout the construction phase. This role is critical in safeguarding the health of workers and the public, ensuring that the project is completed efficiently and without incident. Interested parties should demonstrate relevant experience and provide a comprehensive methodology for managing health and safety on-site.
