The Agricultural Research Council (ARC) has issued a Request for Quotation (RFQ OVI01REQ004372, re-advertised) for the validation, decontamination and repair of laboratory containment and clean-air equipment at its Onderstepoort Veterinary Institute (OVI), 100 Old Soutpan Road, Onderstepoort, Pretoria. The scope covers four line items totalling six units: decontamination and validation of one Class II biosafety cabinet (SN 17149); validation and repairs of one Class II biosafety cabinet (SN 17080); validation of three unidirectional flow (laminar flow) benches (SN 16971, PCR1809099 and 09822); and validation of one UV workstation (SN 19793). All work must be carried out by a SANAS-accredited supplier, which is a special condition of this tender. A compulsory site briefing is also required before quotations are submitted.
To be considered, bidders must be registered on the Central Supplier Database (CSD) and include their CSD registration number and full CSD report with the quotation. Quotations must be on official letterhead, duly signed, and must state their validity period, delivery date, and the warranty period and extent for the goods or services quoted. Prices must be in South African Rand and inclusive of VAT, delivery, insurance and all taxes. Completed and signed Standard Bidding Documents (SBD 1, SBD 4 and SBD 6.1) must accompany the quotation, and non-compliance may lead to disqualification. Service providers must also submit documentation proving relevant experience. Quotations are evaluated on the 80/20 preference point system, where 80 points are allocated to price and 20 points to specific goals, which include HDI, women, youth and PwD ownership, BEE status level and SMME promotion.
