Panel of Legal Practitioners – 3-Year Contract

Beaufort West Municipality, in the Western Cape, is inviting legal practitioners to apply for appointment to a panel that will render legal services to the municipality over a contract period of three years. The panel will provide the municipality with access to qualified legal representation on an as-needed basis. Bidders must meet a minimum functionality threshold of 80% before their bids proceed to price and preference evaluation. The tender uses the 80/20 preference points system, with a maximum of 80 points for price and 20 points for specific goals. Ten points are awarded for contracting with persons or categories of persons historically disadvantaged by unfair discrimination, measured by B-BBEE Status Level of Contributor. Ten points are awarded for promoting enterprises located in the municipal area (WC053). Bidders must be registered on the Central Supplier Database (CSD) at www.csd.gov.za before the closing date, and bids must remain valid for 120 days after closing. Bid documents are available for a non-refundable fee of R265.00 for printed copies, which must be paid into the Beaufort West Municipality's Nedbank account (Branch Code 198 765, Account Number 107 428 0318) using SCM 10/2027 as the payment reference. Electronic documents are free of charge. Sealed bids marked with the bid number and title must be deposited in the tender box at the Supply Chain Management Unit (Corporate Services), Sanlam Building, 112 Donkin Street, Beaufort West, by 14:00 on Friday, 27 November 2026. Bids will be opened publicly in the Committee Room at the same address. Note that the advert refers to both "SCM 10/2027" and "SCM 10-2026" and to "Legal Representatives" in the submission instructions, so bidders should confirm the correct reference with the municipality. The municipality reserves the right not to accept the lowest or any bid, or to accept only part of a bid.
