Dry Room Completion and Seedbank Repairs

The South African National Biodiversity Institute (SANBI) invites tenders for the completion of the Dry Room and associated minor repair work at the Seedbank Facility located in Kirstenbosch National Botanical Garden. The scope of work includes the installation of a refrigeration-based HVAC system designed to maintain optimal environmental conditions for seed storage. This entails the supply, installation, testing, and commissioning of a new air handling unit, refrigeration condensing unit, and associated ductwork, piping, and electrical systems. Additionally, the contractor will be responsible for the removal of redundant equipment and ensuring all installations comply with relevant safety and operational standards.

The successful contractor will provide a comprehensive project plan, including timelines for installation, testing, and commissioning, ensuring minimal disruption to the existing operations of the Seedbank. The project duration is set for four months, and the contractor must adhere to strict health and safety regulations throughout the execution of the works.
