The South African Weather Service (SAWS) is inviting bids from suitably qualified HVAC (Heating, Ventilation and Air Conditioning) specialists to be appointed to a panel of service providers. The panel will support the repair, maintenance, assessment, replacement and new installation of HVAC systems at SAWS facilities located in all nine provinces of South Africa. Work will be commissioned on an as-and-when required basis, so the panel is not guaranteed a fixed volume or value of work. To qualify, service providers must have duly approved operational premises with the necessary infrastructure to deliver the services, plus relevant accreditation from the appropriate regulatory or professional body. Bidders must supply verifiable references, which SAWS will confirm before award, and must provide valid, active OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturer) authorisations where these are required. Bidders must also submit a valid Tax Compliance Status PIN or certificate, or a Central Supplier Database (CSD) number, and a B-BBEE status level certificate or sworn affidavit if preference points are claimed. Consortia, joint ventures and trusts must provide a signed teaming agreement, and any subcontracting arrangement must be supported by proof of a subcontracting agreement. SAWS may conduct a due diligence site visit at the bidder's premises and may request audited financial statements, and it may shortlist bidders for a final presentation.

Successful bidders will need to conclude a Service Level Agreement (SLA) with SAWS covering service levels, quality and a performance scorecard, and payments for invoices are due within 30 days.
