The South African Civil Aviation Authority (SACAA) requires a 2-year renewal of Veritas Backup Exec on-premise licences (Simple Core Pack, 80 instances, Standard Subscription with Essential Maintenance, latest version). The licences protect critical ICT data and support business continuity. Submissions close 30 October 2026 at 11:00.
The South African Civil Aviation Authority (SACAA) has issued a Request for Quotation (RFQ) for the renewal of its Backup Exec software licences for a period of two (2) years. The requirement covers the supply and delivery of one (1) licence bundle comprising Backup Exec Simple Core Pack for Windows, covering 80 instances, deployed on premise. The licences are to be provided on a Standard Subscription basis with Essential Maintenance for an initial term of 24 months, and must be the latest available version of the product.
The purpose of the renewal is to ensure the uninterrupted backup and recovery of SACAA's on-premise critical data and ICT systems. Continuous licensing supports business continuity, protects organisational information against data loss, and ensures that backup and recovery services remain fully supported and operational throughout the contract period. The scope is limited to licence renewal and delivery; it does not include implementation or ongoing managed services unless specified by the buyer.
Bidders will be evaluated under the 80/20 preference point system, with 80 points allocated to price and 20 points to specific goals under the Preferential Procurement Regulations, 2022. Note that the source document contains inconsistent references to the closing date (30 vs 31 October 2026) and the bid number year; bidders should confirm these with the buyer before submitting.
