The Presidency has issued a request for quotations for the renewal of GFI LanGuard Patch Management licences covering 1,000 IP addresses for a period of one year. GFI LanGuard is a network security and patch management solution used to scan endpoints, identify missing software updates and vulnerabilities, and deploy patches across an organisation's IT environment. The licence renewal ensures that the Presidency's existing patch management capability remains active, supported and compliant with its security requirements.
Alongside the licence renewal, the tender requires 60 hours of professional services. These services include remote and onsite support, system health checks, maintenance, configuration and reconfiguration of the solution, and reinstallation should the need arise. Payment will be made only for the hours actually utilised, so the contract provides flexibility for the buyer while giving the supplier a clear basis for billing. Bidders must price all items; any item left unpriced will be treated as offered at no cost.
The evaluation follows the Preferential Procurement Regulations, 2022 and The Presidency's SCM Policy, using a three-phase process. Phase 1 assesses adherence to specifications, and only bidders who quote all required items proceed. Phase 2 checks administrative compliance, including submission before the closing date and registration on the Central Supplier Database (CSD). Phase 3 applies an 80/20 preference point system, with 80 points for price and 20 points for specific goals: women ownership (10 points), youth ownership (7 points) and people with disabilities ownership (3 points), verified through CSD reports. Bidders must complete and sign SBD 4 (Declaration of Interest), ensure tax compliance and verified banking details before final award, and state full specification details even where a brand is specified. Where an equivalent brand is offered, it must be explicitly named in the quotation and is subject to acceptance by The Presidency; otherwise the originally specified GFI product must be supplied. Quotations are valid for 90 days from the closing date, and the validity period may be extended by mutual consent.
This tender is suited to IT companies that are authorised GFI resellers or partners, or that can demonstrably supply genuine GFI LanGuard licences and renewals, and that have the technical capacity to deliver GFI patch management support. Bidders must be registered on the Central Supplier Database (CSD) and able to meet tax and banking verification requirements. Businesses that are at least 10% women-owned, 7% youth-owned or 3% owned by persons with disabilities may also benefit from additional preference points.
