Handheld 3D Mobile Laser Scanner Survey Equipment

Transnet SOC Ltd, through Transnet Property, has issued a Request for Proposal (RFP TP/2026/08/0153/9943/RFP) for the supply and delivery of handheld mobile 3D laser scanner survey equipment for its Northern Region. The procurement is intended to equip staff with the tools needed to perform surveying and asset management work effectively and to support Transnet's commitment to improved operational performance. The estimated value is below R50 million (all taxes included), and the tender is evaluated on a 80/20 price and preference points system. Scored criteria include: experience supplying handheld mobile laser scanner survey equipment, supported by at least five valid references from the last five years with invoices in a single financial year totalling at least R850,000 each; business or store premises within South Africa, verified by proof of address; OEM-certified technicians based at South African workshops capable of performing all required services locally; and minimum operational tenure in business, with more than four years scoring highest. A valid B-BBEE certificate or sworn affidavit is also required for preference points. Successful bidders must provide security for contract performance, and the contract is subject to the Transnet General Bid Conditions and a Non-Disclosure Agreement.
