NMISA requests quotations for the supply of thermogravimetric analysis (TGA) crucibles, including 70 µL aluminium oxide crucibles compatible with the Mettler Toledo TGA1 autosampler, and differential scanning calorimetry (DSC) crucibles, including 40 µL aluminium crucibles with lids and pins. Suppliers must provide pricing excluding VAT, delivery periods, and a valid BBBEE certificate for orders above R2,000.
The National Metrology Institute of South Africa (NMISA), a Schedule 3A public entity under the PFMA, is requesting quotations for the supply of laboratory consumables used in thermal analysis. The request covers two product lines. The first is thermogravimetric analysis (TGA) crucibles, Part No. ME-00024123, with a 70 µL capacity, lids, and no pin. These crucibles are made of aluminium oxide (Al2O3), rated to a maximum temperature of 2000 °C, and must be compatible with the Mettler Toledo TGA1 autosampler robot. Incompatible crucibles will be returned, and bidders are encouraged to submit a sample for instrument testing. The second is differential scanning calorimetry (DSC) crucibles, Part No. ME-00027331, with a 40 µL capacity, a lid and pin, made of aluminium, rated to a maximum temperature of 640 °C and a maximum pressure of 0.2 MPa.
Quotations must be submitted on company letterhead or included in the pricing schedule of the request document, and must show unit and total prices excluding VAT, with VAT at 15% and a grand total shown separately. Quotations must be firm and valid for at least 30 days and must state the delivery period. Responses are subject to the attached Standard Bidding Documents, including SBD 4 (declaration of interest) and SBD 6.1 (preference points claim under the NMISA SCM Policy, using the 80/20 system for values up to R50 million). Bidders claiming preference points must provide proof of B-BBEE status level, and a valid B-BBEE certificate is mandatory for quotations above R2,000. Failure to submit a required declaration may lead to disqualification.
The contract offers a straightforward supply opportunity for accredited laboratory suppliers and scientific consumables distributors. Businesses must hold a valid B-BBEE certificate (required above R2,000), be able to provide firm pricing excluding VAT valid for 30 days, and meet the SBD 4 and SBD 6.1 requirements. Small and Black-owned enterprises may benefit from preference points under the 80/20 system.
