Supply, delivery and installation of office furniture for the P1000 Building at the NECSA site. Bidders must meet NECSA's SHEQ, confidentiality and tax clearance requirements. Closing date: 25 November 2026.
The South African Nuclear Energy Corporation SOC Ltd (NECSA) is inviting bids from suitably qualified service providers for the supply, delivery and installation of office furniture at its P1000 Building on the NECSA site. The appointed supplier will be responsible for providing the furniture, delivering it to the site, and installing it so that it is ready for use. The specific furniture items, quantities and technical specifications are set out in the Invitation to Bid and the Standard Bidding Documents (SBD), which bidders must review in full before submitting a response.
The contract is governed by NECSA's Terms and Conditions of Contract (FBD-SCM-2015-CTR-0001, Rev 3). Goods must be new, unused and of current models, and free from defects in design, materials and workmanship. The supplier must warrant the goods for 12 months after delivery and acceptance at the final destination, or 18 months from shipment, whichever period ends earlier, unless the SLA states otherwise. Defects must be repaired or replaced at no cost to NECSA. Payment is made only after the services are fully performed and accepted, with monthly statements and original invoices submitted, and payment is due within 30 days of a correct statement. NECSA may retain 10% of the contract value, to be released within three months of delivery and issue of a certificate of acceptance. Late delivery may attract penalties under the SLA formula, and NECSA may procure the outstanding work from another provider at the supplier's expense. Subcontracting is permitted, but preference must be given to Black Empowerment Companies, and NECSA must be notified of all subcontracts. An original tax clearance certificate issued by SARS must be submitted before award, and no contract will be concluded with a bidder whose tax affairs are not in order.
Bidders must also comply with NECSA's Safety, Health, Environment, Quality (SHEQ) requirements, including the Safety, Health and Environmental Policy (SHEQ-INS-0100) and the Alcohol and Drugs Control Procedures (SHEQ-INS-0102). Supplier personnel who may access NECSA information must sign confidentiality agreements and be aware of Section 51 of the Nuclear Energy Act, 1999 (Act No. 47 of 1999). Insurance cover for goods in transit, storage and installation is required, and the contract falls under South African law. Disputes are first referred to project managers, then to executive managers. Bidders should note that the tender is currently listed as a draft, so the final documents and closing terms should be confirmed on eTenders before submission. The closing date is 25 November 2026.
This tender suits office furniture manufacturers, distributors and suppliers, and office fit-out or installation contractors that can supply, deliver and install furniture on a secure nuclear-related site. Applicants should hold a valid SARS tax clearance certificate, be able to meet NECSA's SHEQ and confidentiality requirements, and be able to provide the 12 to 18 month warranty. Black-owned and Black Empowerment Companies are encouraged, as NECSA gives preference to them for subcontracting. Small and medium enterprises with the capacity to deliver and install the full scope within the agreed timeframe are also well placed to apply, either as prime contractors or as subcontractors to a larger supplier.
