Municipal Office Building Construction NEW

Bergrivier Municipality, in the Western Cape, has invited competent and experienced contractors to tender for the development of municipal offices at Velddrif in accordance with the National Building Regulations (Tender T 8/3/65-2026 MN246-2026). The advert indicates bidders should hold a CIDB construction grading of 3GB or higher, supported by valid proof of registration on the date of tender submission. The advert itself does not set out detailed scope, drawings, floor areas or budget. These should be confirmed in the tender documents, which are available for purchase, and at the compulsory clarification meeting.

Key administrative requirements are strict. Tender documents cost R500.00 per set (VAT inclusive) and must be paid into the Bergrivier Municipality Nedbank account (Piketberg branch), quoting the tender reference and company name. Proof of payment is required when collecting documents, which are available from 9 November 2026 at 09:00 from the Municipal Offices, 13 Kerk Street, Piketberg. Attendance at the compulsory clarification meeting on 16 November 2026 at 11:00 at Noordhoek Community Hall, Velddrif is mandatory, and doors close at 11:05. Bids must be submitted in sealed envelopes clearly marked with the tender number and title, and placed in the tender box at the Municipal Offices, 13 Kerk Street, Piketberg, by 12:00 on 7 December 2026. Bids will be opened in public. Only original documents completed in handwritten black ink are accepted. Bids sent by fax or email, late bids and incomplete bids will not be accepted, and proof of posting is not proof of receipt. Bidders using courier services bear the risk of late delivery. Bids are evaluated on the 80/20 preference point system (80 points for price, 10 for specific participation goals and 10 for B-BBEE), so a completed Preference Point Claim Form is required. Bid prices must be VAT inclusive. A valid Tax Clearance Certificate, TCS PIN or CSD registration number must accompany the bid, and failure to provide it may invalidate the bid. Bids must remain valid for 120 days after the closing date. The municipality is not obliged to accept the lowest or any bid and reserves the right to award in full or in part, and may procure additional items if prices prove cost-effective.
