Glassware Washer Maintenance, Service & Consumables

Eskom Holdings SOC Ltd has invited tenders for the provision of service, maintenance, consumables and spares for glassware washer machines at its Petroleum Sciences (PS) laboratories. The contract runs for five years on an as-and-when required basis, so the successful supplier will be called out as needed rather than being guaranteed a fixed volume of work. The equipment in scope includes Miele Professional PG 8583, Miele Professional G7883C and Miele Professional PG 8536 glassware washers, along with supply of Neodisher Z and Neodisher FLA laboratory detergents. Service sites include the Eskom Research and Innovation Centre (Rosherville, Johannesburg), the Eskom Oil Lab, and the Rotek laboratories in Seshego and Polokwane, Limpopo.

The scope covers planned and ad hoc servicing and repairs, supply of spares and consumables, and travel, call-out, accommodation, courier and subsistence costs for each site. Suppliers must respond to service requests within 48 hours of a purchase order being issued. Where spares must be imported, service should be completed within six weeks. A service report must be issued after every service or maintenance visit. Consumables must be delivered with certificates of analysis and safety data sheets, carry a shelf life guarantee of at least three years, and be packaged to protect contents, minimise health and safety risks and prevent contamination. Products must meet manufacturer specifications, and the supplier must hold ISO 9001 and ISO 45001 aligned quality and health and safety systems.

The contract is governed by the NEC3 Term Service Contract (Option A, priced contract with price list) with secondary options for price adjustment for inflation and limitation of liability. Tenderers must meet Eskom's Category 4 quality requirements, including a method statement, quality policy and objectives, an organisation chart, and a supplier control procedure. Mandatory returnables include CSD registration, a COIDA letter of good standing, an OHS plan, a baseline risk assessment, an environmental policy and aspect register, a signed Form A, and approved annual financial statements. Evaluation is split into a 75% technical functionality threshold, then 80% price and 20% specific goals under the PPPFA 80/20 system. Tenders are submitted electronically through the Eskom e-tendering portal, with a closing date of 20 November 2026 at 10:00 SAST and a 180-day validity period. A non-compulsory clarification meeting is scheduled for 12 November 2026.
