PRASA seeks a SETA-registered provider to deliver a 5-day social media and communication course, priced per candidate. The provider supplies training resources, manages attendance registers and issues hardcopy certificates; Metrorail Gauteng provides the venue.
The Passenger Rail Agency of South Africa (PRASA), through Metrorail Gauteng, has issued a Request for Quotation (RFQ) reference DMP/12/26/GAU-HCM/2 for a service provider to deliver social media marketing training. The requirement is a SETA-accredited course titled Social Media and Communication, with a duration of five days. The programme is designed to give learners the skills to perform elementary social media and communication functions, including business communication methods, communication and public relations theory, and the use of information technology and information systems in the digital space. Learners are trained to support management with communication and public relations administrative duties, and the qualification is intended to support their development and mobility within the field.
The successful supplier must be registered with the SETA for Social Media in the Workplace Training and must provide proof of accreditation. The supplier is responsible for providing its own training resources, such as projectors, pens, whiteboard markers and flip charts where relevant. It must also manage attendance registers, provide these to the end user, handle all course administration throughout the training period, and issue hardcopy Certificates of Competency to successful candidates. Metrorail Gauteng will provide the training venue. Pricing is requested per candidate, in South African Rand, inclusive of 15% VAT, and must be fixed.
Bidders must note that attendance at the compulsory briefing session (scheduled for 6 November 2026 at 10:00 at the Shosholoza Meyl Junction, Braamfontein) is a mandatory requirement, and that a Certificate of Attendance (Form D) must be submitted with the quotation. Other mandatory returnable documents include a completed Pricing Schedule, a Letter of Good Standing from COIDA, a valid SARS PIN, and CSD supplier registration. Evaluation is split between compliance, a 60% minimum functionality threshold based on organisational experience in similar completed projects, and a preference system allocating 80 points to price and 20 points to specific goals, including black women-owned and 51% black-owned EME or QSE status. Quotations must be hand-delivered to the stated address by the closing date and time of 12 November 2026 at 10:00, as email or fax submissions are not accepted.
This tender is most relevant to SETA-registered training providers that hold accreditation for Social Media in the Workplace Training and have experience delivering similar accredited courses to corporate or government clients. Businesses should have CSD registration, a valid SARS tax PIN, a COIDA Letter of Good Standing and proof of at least one completed similar project, since experience scores strongly in the evaluation. Black women-owned businesses and EMEs or QSEs with at least 51% black ownership may benefit from the specific goals preference. Providers must be able to attend the compulsory briefing on 6 November 2026 and hand-deliver their quotation to Braamfontein by 12 November 2026 at 10:00. Businesses that cannot meet these mandatory requirements should not apply.
