Supply and delivery of parks and gardens equipment and protective gear, including brush cutters, lawnmowers, chainsaw trousers, safety helmets, gloves and grease. Sealed quotes close 27 October 2026 at 12:00.
Inxuba Yethemba Local Municipality (IYM) has issued Request for Quotation IYM04/10/2026Q for the supply and delivery of materials for its parks and gardens section. The RFQ was advertised on 20 October 2026 and closes on 27 October 2026 at 12:00. Although the tender is titled as a general materials supply, the pricing schedule shows that the requirement is for garden maintenance equipment and personal protective equipment (PPE). The schedule lists eight line items: a standard item (quantity 10, description partially illegible in the source document), protective gloves (size L, quantity 7), basic safety helmet sets (quantity 8), shin pads (quantity 6), multipurpose grease in 80g tubes (quantity 1), FS235 brush cutters (quantity 4), VX 200 lawnmowers (quantity 2), and chainsaw trousers (size L, quantity 2). Bidders should confirm item descriptions and specifications with the Project Manager before pricing, as several entries in the document contain typographical errors.
Quotations are evaluated on an 80/20 preferential point system. Up to 20 points are awarded for locality, with enterprises located within Inxuba Yethemba receiving the highest allocation (10 points under the locality criteria, as set out in the RFQ), followed by Chris Hani District, the Eastern Cape, and the rest of South Africa. A further 10 points are available for 100% black-owned firms, but only if a valid BBBEE certificate or sworn affidavit is submitted. Municipal account statements, a municipal utility bill or lease agreement, a valid CSD report, a SARS PIN or tax compliance certificate, certified copies of directors' identity documents, and completed MBD 4 and MBD 9 declarations are all required. SBD forms will not be considered, and failure to supply the required documents will result in disqualification or loss of preference points. Prices must include VAT at 15%, and quotations must remain valid for 60 days from the closing date.
Submissions must be formal, signed or stamped with the company stamp, and placed in a sealed envelope marked with the quotation number and description. Envelopes must be deposited in the bid box at the Registry Office, IYM offices, No. 1 JA Calata Street, Cradock, 5880, before 12:00 on 27 October 2026. Email submissions are not accepted. Payment will be made within 30 days after delivery of goods. Bidders must be registered on the Central Supplier Database (www.csd.gov.za) and submit a Declaration of Interest form, available from the Supply Chain Office. The municipality reserves the right to award the quotation in full or in part, and it is not obliged to accept the lowest or any quotation. For technical queries, contact Mr. S. Jodo at 048 801 5088 or sjodo@iym.gov.za. For SCM queries, contact Tandolwetu Petelo at (048) 801 5159 or tpetelo@iym.gov.za.
Suppliers of garden and landscaping equipment, power tools, and grounds-maintenance machinery; PPE and safety clothing distributors; general hardware and industrial consumables suppliers. Businesses located in Inxuba Yethemba, Chris Hani District, or the Eastern Cape will earn locality points, and 100% black-owned firms can earn additional preference points. Bidders must be CSD-registered, tax-compliant, and able to supply all required municipal documents and deliver by the 27 October 2026 deadline.
