The vehicle must also carry at least 30 m of 100 mm suction hose in a heavy-duty rack, along with a range of safety equipment including a reverse alarm, amber beacon, DCP fire extinguisher, wheel chocks, emergency stop and lockable battery isolator. Certified axle load and GVM calculations must be provided to confirm the vehicle can carry 9,000 L without exceeding manufacturer ratings.
The contract includes on-site operator training covering vehicle operation, vacuum system operation, daily inspections, preventative maintenance and health and safety, with all training costs included in the tendered price. Minimum warranty requirements are 24 months for chassis and drivetrain, 24 months for the tank and body, and 12 months for the vacuum pump, plus a 3-year or 150,000 km maintenance plan. Bidders must demonstrate local service support, spare parts availability and technical support arrangements. Mandatory returnables include technical brochures, vehicle mass and axle load calculations, vacuum pump performance data, general arrangement drawings and tank construction details. Failure to submit these may result in disqualification. Optional extras, including seat covers, suction hose, a handwash tank, a lockable toolbox, a high-pressure wash-down system and a reverse camera, must be priced separately and may be accepted or rejected without affecting the base vehicle award. Bidders should note that the pricing schedule specifies a 50-litre handwash tank while the technical specification states 30 litres, so clarification with the contact person is advisable.
