Lepelle Northern Water (LNW) is inviting proposals from suitably qualified and experienced security companies for the appointment of physical security service providers at National Key Point (NKP) sites in the Mopani, Sekhukhune and Capricorn regions. The contract runs for a period of 60 months (five years) and covers physical guarding, access control monitoring, patrolling of premises, protection of personnel, visitors and assets, safeguarding of information, and security incident management. Functionality is scored out of 100 across company experience with NKP sites (35 points), vehicle capacity (20 points), proposed key personnel including PSIRA-registered supervisors and control security officers (30 points), contingency and emergency response planning (15 points), and a 24/7 control room capability (15 points). Qualifying bids are then evaluated on price (90 points under the 90/10 system) and specific goals (10 points), which include SMME, black women, black ownership and black youth ownership. The contract includes defined penalties for late postings, desertion, unlicensed or unvetted personnel, failure to report incidents, and non-payment of statutory wages.
