Catering Services for ICT Awareness Training NEW

The Special Investigating Unit (SIU), an independent statutory body that investigates serious malpractice, maladministration and corruption in state institutions, has issued Request for Quotation (RFQ) 179 2026/27 for the supply and delivery of catering services for an ICT awareness training session. The training will take place on 16 and 17 November 2026 at the SIU Polokwane Provincial Office, Ground Floor, Moolman 500 Building, 31 Market Street, Polokwane. The contract is once-off and covers 43 attendees over the two days.

The approved menu for Day 1 includes pap, rice, lamb stew, roasted chicken, beans mash, cabbage, green salad and chakalaka, with cooldrinks and 100% juice (assorted) for drinks. Pricing must cover the full scope of work, including all logistics and disbursements needed to deliver the final product on time, and must be quoted inclusive of VAT. Quotations are evaluated on the 80/20 preference point system, with 80 points for price and 20 points for B-BBEE status level. The estimated value of the bid is not to exceed R1 000 000 (all taxes included), which is a process threshold under the PPPFA and not the project budget. Payment is made within 30 days of invoice, and no pre-payments are allowed. Goods and services may not be delivered until an official order has been received.

Mandatory requirements include registration on the National Treasury Central Supplier Database (CSD) and a CSD tax status of compliant, shown on the CSD Summary Report. Bidders must also confirm they will deliver in line with the Terms of Reference, and submit ID copies of company directors, CIPC registration, a SARS PIN, a B-BBEE certificate or sworn affidavit, and the fully completed and signed RFQ, including SBD 4 and SBD 6.1. Quotations must be on company letterhead and every page must be signed. Successful bidders must also sign an occupational health and safety agreement under section 37(2) of the Occupational Health and Safety Act, and may be subject to security agency vetting and reference checks. Submissions must be emailed to RFQ@siu.org.za by 14:30 on 11 November 2026. Late or incomplete submissions will not be accepted. Note that the RFQ states a validity period of both 90 days and 30 days, so bidders should confirm this with the SIU before submitting.
