SASSA seeks a service provider to supply, install, configure, support and maintain Hitech self-service kiosks at its Head Office and nine regional offices over a three-year period, on an as-and-when-required basis.
The South African Social Security Agency (SASSA) has invited proposals from qualified service providers for the appointment of a contractor to supply, install, deliver, configure, support and maintain Hitech self-service kiosks. The kiosks are to be deployed at SASSA's Head Office and across its nine (9) regional offices. The contract is structured on an as-and-when-required basis over a period of three (3) years, meaning SASSA will place orders for kiosks and related services as operational needs arise rather than committing to a single fixed delivery.
The scope of work spans the full lifecycle of the kiosk solution. This includes the supply and delivery of kiosk hardware, installation at the designated sites, configuration of the kiosks to SASSA's requirements, ongoing technical support, and routine maintenance throughout the contract term. Successful bidders will be expected to coordinate delivery and installation across geographically dispersed offices and to ensure that kiosks remain operational and serviceable for citizens accessing SASSA services. Detailed technical specifications, pricing schedules, service level expectations and other requirements are contained in the supporting tender documentation (SASSA-12-26-ICT-HO KIOSK), which bidders must obtain and review before submitting a proposal.
The initiative supports SASSA's objective of improving service access and efficiency by enabling citizens to perform self-service transactions and enquiries without lengthy queues. For suppliers, the contract represents a sustained, multi-year opportunity to provide ICT hardware and managed services to a national government agency. Bidders should note the closing date of 23 November 2026 and ensure compliance with National Treasury tender requirements, including tax clearance, B-BBEE certification and company registration documents, as applicable.
This tender is suited to ICT hardware suppliers, kiosk and self-service technology providers, and managed IT service companies with experience in supplying, installing and supporting public-facing hardware. Businesses should have national reach or the capacity to deliver, install and maintain equipment across multiple provinces, along with the technical skills to configure and support the Hitech kiosk platform. Small and medium enterprises with relevant certifications, B-BBEE status and proven government contracting experience are encouraged to apply, individually or through joint ventures or partnerships with complementary service providers.
