Armed Response Security Services

Sentech SOC Limited, a South African state-owned telecommunications company, has issued Request for Quotation RFX 60000003793 seeking a qualified service provider to deliver 24/7 armed response security services at its Schweizer Reneke site. The contract runs for a period of three years and requires the appointed provider to patrol and monitor the premises remotely using the site's alarm system, and to dispatch armed response personnel whenever an alarm is triggered or a panic button is activated. Billing will be monthly, with an annual price escalation of 5% over the contract term.

To be considered, bidders must meet strict mandatory eligibility requirements. These include a valid PSIRA company certificate, a valid PSIRA letter of good standing, PSIRA registration certificates for the company's directors, valid SAPS-issued company firearm licences, and a valid ICASA radio frequency licence. Bidders must also be tax compliant, registered on the Sentech Supplier Database, and submit quotations on company letterhead, fully completed and signed in black ink, via email before the closing deadline of 13 November 2026 at 12:00. A compulsory briefing session will be held via Microsoft Teams on 6 November 2026 at 10:00. Quotations remain valid for 90 days.

Evaluation follows a three-stage process under the 80/20 preference point system. Stage one assesses administrative responsiveness; stage two scores functionality out of 100, with a minimum qualifying score of 70 points, based on fleet size, company experience in armed response, geographic footprint (including PSIRA satellite office presence), and free call-out commitments; stage three evaluates price and B-BBEE preference points. Sentech reserves the right to negotiate market-related prices, to appoint one or more suppliers in whole or in part, or to appoint none. Successful providers gain a long-term, multi-year contract with a major state-owned enterprise, offering predictable revenue and the opportunity to build a sustained track record in the public sector security market.
