Electrification Project Construction

The Emadlangeni Local Municipality has issued tender MN13/2026-27 for the construction of Phase 3 of the Luthilunye Electrification Project. The scope covers the provision of electrical infrastructure and household connections for 114 dwellings in Ward 01 of the municipality. This phase forms part of a wider programme to extend access to safe, reliable electricity to previously unserved or under-serviced households within the municipal area.

Based on the project title, the works are expected to include the installation of medium and low voltage reticulation networks, transformers and associated switchgear where required, and the individual service connections to each of the 114 households. Contractors should expect to deliver the works in accordance with the South African National Standard (SANS 10142) for wiring of premises, Eskom or the relevant distributor's technical specifications, and the Occupational Health and Safety Act requirements.
